Call of Duty 7: Black Ops revealed - gets release date

Activision releases first CoD 7 sneak peak and gives November release date.COD

Activision has revealed its seventh official Call of Duty game in the form of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The first sneak trailer was published on GameTrailers and you can watch it below.

It doesn't show much gameplay, and nor does it give any clear indication of where the game is set. It has been widely speculated that it will take place in th

e Vietnam era, but the video does little to confirm this. It is clear however that Black Opps will be set in a more modern setting than Treyarch’s last CoD, and earlier CoD’s, and there are a few clips in the video that suggest some jungle combat, so Vietnam may be indeed featured in some way.

It has also been confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released on November 9 2010.

Check out the video for yourself, and be sure to let us know if you spot any telling details.

Update

It has been confirmed via the teaser website that the game will feature Cuban, Vietnamese and Artic locations.

Mac OS gamers finally have Steam, StarCraft II beta

The often neglected cousin of Windows PC's see's some gaming client action

Steam

Hardcore gamers have seen them before - the floppy haired, knitted sweater wearing 'cool-guy' Mac user, who's muttering something about how the colours on their screen are better - poppycock! Things just got real however, with an announcement from Valve that the Steam client will be going live on 12 May 2010, and finally Mac users will have the opportunity to be on the bleeding edge of gaming releases.

The details are few at this point, but we can probably assume that the most popular Valve titles will soon be wending their way onto a Mac near you.

In other news, a StarCraft II beta client has been released for the Mac platform - but hold your Zerglings! It's only available for North American users at the moment. Blizzard promises the rest of the world will be included soon.

Either way, good news for Mac OS gamers lucky enough to have a beta key.
